Retired Civil Engineering Manager by profession, with 35 yrs working experience in the country and abroad got bitten by the dog bug when in 2011 he happened to rescue a dying puppy and named him Bhulo Dutt, the Proudest Indian Alive and created for him the first ever Indian Dog’s Page on FB.

He shot into public prominence in 2015 all by chance when he got inspired to act against cruelty to animals in the case of stray dogs being starved within a fenced area at Presidency University. Thereafter he became the founding force of Pashupati Animal Society-PAWS in 2016. That added strength to his self earned position as an animal rights activist and mediator in dog/ cat related man-animal conflicts within human society. Presently in his retired life he’s an honorary member/ advisor to PAWS and the owner of RKD Pet Shop at Barasat, www.rkdpetshop.online from where he sells everything and every service required by pet owners or stray animal carers at very affordable prices in order to make pet care services affordable for all layers of society.

Amit Chaudhery

Mr. Amit Chaudhery is an Integrated Communications and Public Diplomacy professional. In parallel, he owns an imprint named ‘Invictus’, is a prolific writer, publisher and broadcaster. More importantly, he is a naturalist and conservationist, engaged in animal welfare and protection. He has been the prime inspiration to our Founder Member Prasenjit Dutta and guide in dealing with legal action in favour of animals for which PAWS has become known at Kolkata.

Besides being a widely referenced writer between 2001 and 2018 he has served on expert committees of the Government of India as a naturalist, conservationist which primarily is role of maintaining a supervision on institutional animal ethics. Among others, he has also served as expert member for the Defence Institute of Physiology & Allied Sciences, DRDO Ministry of Defence; Maulana Azad Medical College; Indian Council of Agricultural Research; Ranbaxy / Sun Pharma; Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). From 2009 and until 2018 he was also the President, People For Animals’ Gurgaon chapter (www.pfagurgaon.com) a subsidiary of India’s largest animal welfare NGO: People For Animals (www.peopleforanimalsindia.org) founded and chaired by Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi, Hon. Union Minister. Since 2013, he continues to serve as an Honorary Animal Welfare Officer (HAWO) for the Animal Welfare Board of India–a statutory body under the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change, Government of India.

Presently he also is the Founder of ‘Earth Quotient’ (www.earthquotient.org) a body that is an aggregator of efforts and direct interventions in areas of impact on ecosystems and non-humans. With wide experience in social equity, Mr. Amit Chaudhery is a Representative Neutral, authorised to serve as mediator, arbitrator, negotiator, ombudsman by the Mediation & Conciliation Network (www.mediationhub.org).

Dr. Chandrakanta Chakraborty

A post graduate Veterinary Doctor from West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences of Kolkata, is an independent freelance small animal veterinary practitioner & surgeon attending to Kolkata and suburban towns. He has been working in this field of veterinary practices for last 18 years. He runs his full-fledged personal clinic ‘Cats N Dogs Treatment Centre’ at his hometown Serampore, in the Hoooghly Dist. in the State of of West Bengal..

He is also an empaneled veterinary industry expert of an organization of Kolkata and visits their related projects when needed. Dr. Chakraborty is also presently working as ‘Member Veterinarian’ of ‘Institutional Animal Ethics Committee’ of Serampore College, which works as per the guidelines laid by CPCSEA on laboratory animals’ research. He is a workaholic doctor who regularly attends scientific seminars, conferences, webinars, CE programmes to keep him updated with the ongoing advancements in Veterinary Science.

Even within his busy schedule, he keeps a good number of hours reserved as study time and is a trusted consultant of PAWS, even at odd hours of the night.
